Special resistors
Special resistors are components designed and specified for special applications and environmental influences. Flameproof resistors can be used in potentially explosive atmospheres, as no flames are generated in the event of overload or destruction. In the past, for purely technological reasons, properties such as high pulse and overvoltage resistance were mostly reserved for leaded and relatively large resistors. The further developments in the recent past now also enable designs in the SMD chip area. Corrosion- and sulphur-resistant chip resistors are becoming more and more reliable thanks to improved coating and passivation processes. In addition to the automotive industry, new areas of application are opening up, for example in environmental technology.
