Current measuring resistors

Current measuring resistors and shunts are very low-ohm resistors. For precise operation, designs with a 4-wire connection (also called Kelvin connection) are used. Depending on the size and design, currents can be measured from a few microampere to over 1000Apmere. Due to their wide range of applications, from simple current controls to precision power supplies and precision measuring instruments, these resistors are manufactured in various resistance technologies.
When measuring resistors are used, it is essential to observe the supply lines, whether free or on a printed circuit board, when creating the corresponding circuit layouts. Long connection wires, contact resistances, but also ambient temperatures and self-heating can negative influence the measured values and falsify the measurement results.
